periodically I say a little prayer of gratitude that the people who were lined up to buy my house before I saw it decided that the entirely intact asbestos flooring in the wide open basement was a deal breaker for some reason

#apropos of asbestos chatter elsewhere #I remain so curious as to wtf they planned to do to the basement that they felt they had to touch the floor #I mean idk what goes into putting up more walls maybe that'd make it obligatory?#but I am also unable to imagine what major renovation of the basement would make sense #you can't put bedrooms in it without cutting the foundation and at that point abating asbestos seems like not that extraordinarily #anyway thanks folks it was the last and yet also best house of its type and price in this area for the next two years
